I’m a New Zealander currently living in Sydney, Australia. Sometimes I miss home, more often I miss my wonderful family, but I don’t really have any plans to return soon. My husband and I are planning on traveling the world. We both enjoy traveling and seeing new places, and most importantly having adventures.
This is one of the reasons I am doing the Tony Ferguson program, so that I can travel without having to worry about not having enough energy to do things, and go places, climb thousands of steps and walk for hours around strange cities. I want to be healthy, and for my body to carry me around the world with out being an inconvenience.
I started this blog at the suggestion of my husband who figured that if I had to cook all the recipes in the book and then tell people about them that I would have a higher chance of sticking to the program. He is right so far. What it has also enabled me to do is focus on creating new habits – that of cooking healthy food every night – and this helps me not to obsess over the scales or what I can’t eat.
I’m not a great cook, so I will probably have some culinary adventures on this journey, thank goodness for the internet, that it lets me look up what strange ingredients are on Wikipedia!
Hi Andrea
Well, what a great morning of reading you have provided. It is not often I enjoy or even look at a blog – the self indulgent things that they can sometimes be…
I just wanted to let you know that your blog has really picked me up when I needed it – some 5 weeks into the program.
I especially enjoy hearing about your enjoyment level for each dish. I am a serial cookbook-buyer..and your blog is encouraging me to actually make full use of them, instead of sticking to the tried and true recipes I initially found.
I will keep following with you all the way – and also start incorporating a new recipe or two every week (I am sure that I can find a good excuse not to do a new one every night..)
I am finding this whole TF thing so very easy to stick to. The only thing I notice repeatedly is the amount of sweet lovers on the forums..people scarfing down jelly left, right and centre..making things of jelly…jelly snakes, jelly made into turkish delight… Heck, I can’t stand jelly, so I am a proud savoury junkie – and your blog hits the spot for those who are not enticed by all things sweet (this obviously excludes chocolate).
So, my long winded rant is ending with the message I wish to offer – thank you from the bottom of my stomach, for your inspiring work…you are making my trip to gorgeousness that much easier!
Kind regards
Donna
Hi Donna! I am really glad you are enjoying my blog and that its helping. We must have started on TF about the same time as I have just passed the 5 week mark too, although it feels like I have been doing this forever some days!
I am a serial cookbook buyer too, but I’m not so good at using them, until now. I have been tagging the recipes I’ve cooked with little flags so each time I look at the books I can see how much use they are getting. It’s quite cool to see
I’m with you on finding TF easy (most of the time). I think that it’s the savoury stuff I miss more than the sweet but not to the point of craving it all the time. I read somewhere the other day that the more sweet stuff you have the more you crave, I guess it might sound obvious but it’s so true. I haven’t made one jelly since I started as I just haven’t found the need for them.
If you try any of the recipes I have written about I would love to hear your comments, especially if they are different from what I found
You Rock Andrea!!!!!!!
This is fantastic!!!!! Keep up with it, I have saved this blog as a Favourite and will be keeping tabs!!!
Love your writing style too!!!!
